Katarína Báleš Janáková, founder of blu: gallery has had a career in human resources, working for several corporations, where she helped to set and manage HR strategies. At the same time, she took a year off to live in Paris, which is her favorite city and the capital of art.

Her love has long been contemporary art, and from being an enthusiastic visitor to galleries during her travels around the world to collecting contemporary Slovak art, it was only a step to working in a gallery. For 5 years she worked on art projects for a progressive private gallery in Bratislava. Later she decided to make her dream come true and open her own gallery. Blu : gallery in Modra (SVK) for almost three years offered the best of Slovak art through solo and group exhibition projects. It has been dedicated to educating the general public and schools in the field of contemporary, mainly free art, presenting the art of contemporary young artists at art fairs in various European cities (Paris, Turin, Berlin, and others).  The blu : gallery project is currently dedicated to the presentation of art in online space and through pop up exhibition projects.
